With water temps hovering in the mid 80's fishing is on fire!! Redfish have been found consistently on the high ends of the tides by "beating the bushes" When water temps are over the 80 Degree mark fish will seek refuge from the Summer sun by going Underneath Mangrove overhangs. Baits should be put no further than 1' from the mangrove edges to have success. Snook, Speckled Seatrout, Jack Crevalle and the Occasional Shark are also found this way. We have found cut Mullet, Pinfish, as well as whitebait all to be effective with this technique. The old saying goes...if you Chum, they will come! Fishing should remain strong Through the month of June into July. Fish early and late to beat the heat and the chance of thunderstorms. We even found an Endangered Smalltooth Sawfish on a recent outing.
